AF Star Stitches

A logo commissioned by a client who has a cross stitching business.
She wanted the design to also be printed on fabric!
In keeping with the name and sewing theme, I incorporated a star made to look like it had been sewn on, followed by excess thread going through a sewing needle.
The Process
The original sketch design that was
chosen by the client.
The text originally has the same gradient as the sewing needle, however this was seen to be too busy and was changed to a solid silver/grey colour.
The client asked for a splash of colour as the fabric
she sews on is almost white.
The client said she liked purple and pink so
those colours were incorporated.
She had also seen my portrait illustrations
and wanted a backdrop like that.
